Our Story

From pastries to pepsi –

Pepsi New Haven began in 1869 as a bakery, ice and ice cream company in downtown New Haven. It was owned by the Edward Hebbeler family who immigrated from Osnabrook, Germany. Ice manufacturing was added in the late 1880’s. In 1900, an ice cream plant was added to the business.

In 1932, the Hebbelers installed a soft drink bottling line and began to produce Root Beer, Orange and Cream flavored sodas.

In 1937, a Pepsi Bottling Appointment was awarded to the company and the production of Pepsi-Cola began. Sun-Drop was added in 1954.

In 1965, a new plant was opened on Highway 100 and continues to serve at headquarters. There are also locations in Bowling Green, MO and Rolla, MO. Bottling operations ceased in 1994 due to packaging changes, and most products are supplied by Wis-Pak, a bottler co-op.

Today, the descendants and family of Edward Hebbeler continue to guide the company into the future. The help and support of scores of dedicated employees over the years have made Pepsi New Haven what it is today, and we look forward to many more years!
